2019 Press Accreditation
We have a limited number of press passes available for our events nationwide. Showmasters events have featured on the BBC and Reuters, and in The Guardian, The Times and many many more. We like to encourage all types of press to our events, from photographers to bloggers and we reserve a few passes for media students subject to demand.
All passes are allocated on a discretionary basis. We try to be as fair as possible, though please be aware that demand now regularly outstrips availability. If your application is successful we will contact you by email no earlier than two weeks before an event. We try to take into account supplied information such as potential audience and reach, potential outlets and the nature of the request when allocating press passes - DO NOT EXPECT A PASS simply because you have previously been issued one.
Press Passes are not a guarantee by simply applying for one - they are very limited due to the nature of these events - the only way you can guarantee entry to the event is to purchase an entry ticket, although entry is included as part of the Press Pass it's main function should always be considered as giving access to the guests for interviews, not entry to the event. If you also purchase event related tickets such as photo shoots or talk tickets in advance, we would strongly advise you to purchase an entry ticket at the same time to avoid any problems if a press pass is not then allocated.
Passes ARE NOT allocated on a first come first served basis - simply submit your request before the deadline to be considered.
Passes are not issued on the day at the event, pre-event registration only.
Any applications received within the 7 days before an event will not be considered - once passes are issued the data is not reviewed again before the event, so if you do apply in the days before the event you will not hear from us.
Due to growing demand we can only offer a maximum of 2 passes per company/outlet - if additional passes are required please contact us after you recieve your success email, we will look at each request for more but can make no guarantees that we will be able to offer any more than you are allocated.
If you are Freelance, or if you are a student, please use the additional information box to include details of the names of the publications/websites that carried your last published articles, or the name of your course, including the name of your college or university.
PLEASE NOTE THAT APPLICATIONS FOR LONDON COMIC CON WINTER CAN BE FOUND IN THE REGIONAL PRESS PASS REQUEST - DO NOT USE THE LONDON FILM & COMIC CON APPLICATION, WHICH IS ONLY FOR THE JULY EVENT.
APPLICATIONS CLOSE A WEEK PRIOR TO THE EVENT FOR REGIONAL/LONDON COMIC CON SPRING/LONDON COMIC CON WINTER AND TWO WEEKS PRIOR FOR LONDON FILM & COMIC CON.
YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED SHORTLY AFTER APPLICATIONS CLOSE.
CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE APPLYING FOR A PRESS PASS
The Press Pass's main function is to allow members of the press to interview and approach guests for promotional reasons. If you have no intention of interviewing guests, and have other interests in our event we would ask that you do not apply for a press pass as numbers allocated are based on the availability of guests - by applying for a pass with no intention of interviewing a guest you are taking the opportunity away from an outlet that may be turned away who did want to speak to the guests.
Photography - we will have a limited number of press photography passes available for each event, please be very clear in your application if you are a photographer only.
After submission your request will be assigned to the event/s you have checked as interested in. You will receive notification of whether you have been successful in your application no earlier than 1 week prior to the event. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL THE OFFICE OR ANY KNOWN EMAIL ADDRESSES WITH PRESS REQUESTS, only requests done via the form will be considered for 2019 events.
By applying for a press pass there is never a guarantee - there is always high demand for a limited number of passes for each event. You will not be notified until a week before the event as to whether your application has been successful. If you purchase photo shoot/talk tickets in advance we would advise you to buy an entry ticket at that point to ensure entry to the event. Showmasters Ltd can not be held responsible for any Photo Shoot/Talk Tickets being purchased on the assumption of getting a press pass issued if the event sells out. No refunds will be issued in this instance.
Showmasters LTD reserve the right to revolk any issued passes prior or during the event with no notice/warning.
